independent video game studio Catchweight announces the launch of the Kickstarter campaign of Conscript. Conscript is a pixel-art survival horror game set in the trenches of Verdun’s trenches during the First World War. Kickstarter’s campaign launched on June 16, 10H PCT and comes with a playable demo and a new trailer.
Officially selected for the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition, Conscript is inspired by classic survival horror titles such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill – with a top-down perspective and mixing pixel-art with a unique hand-drawn historical environment.
What is Conscript?
In Conscript, you play André a young french soldier looking for his brother Pierre – missing-in-action during the battle of Verdun. Set in a historic and oppressive environment, you are under constant threat of bombings, gas warfare and enemy raids. Carefully manage your limited supplies and craft what you can find to survive your journey across the battlefield. Face enemy in fast-paced combats on your rescue mission and solve complex puzzles to advance deeper into restricted zones.

The Kickstarter campaign is an “all or nothing” campaign of 30 days duration starting today. After 3 years of solo development, Conscripts Kickstarter Campaign will help Jordan, the developer, to complete the game and will cover the costs of additional animation, production and development. The funds will be essential to create the best possible version of the Conscript game. Catchweight Studio plans to release Conscript on PC for the second quarter of 2021. Other platforms may be considered depending on Kickstarter’s results.
