The long awaited sequel to the iconic, untouchable, 1986 fantasy epic Labyrinth is looking ever more likely, with Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson leading the charge.
Derrickson had been attached to an upcoming sequel to his 2016 Marvel opus, but dropped out of the project, instead lending his brilliant mind to the long-dormant Henson production.
We wont insult you by going over the plot of the original Labyrinth movie, because if you haven’t seen it by now then you probably never will. It’s probably safe to surmise that the decision to press ahead with the movie comes off the back of the insanely great Dark Crystal revival, which premiered on Netflix late last year.
The as yet untitled sequel will be written by Maggie Levin, with Brian and Lisa Henson both attached as producers. We’ll have more details as they emerge from the bog of eternal stench.
