Reading Time ~ 1 minute

The team here at Two Beard Gaming is very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Caroll Spinney, who died today according to a statement from the Sesame Workshop.

Generations of us grew up watching Caroll perform as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on iconic kids TV series Sesame Street. He had been a part of the show since its creation back in 1969 and had only just retired last year through declining health.

The statement described Caroll Spinney as: “An artistic genius whose kind and loving view of the world helped shape and define Sesame Street from its earliest days in 1969 through five decades, and his legacy here at Sesame Workshop and in the cultural firmament will be unending,”.

Although he is gone, and although we seldom saw him on screen himself, the legend of Caroll Spinney will live on with us all and will be felt on the Sesame Street set for generations to come.
