It’s like Christmas, but with a better focus on new shinies than it is on togetherness, food, and figuring out who will survive the shopping gauntlet. Nintendo Direct was up with the sun this week and handed out the presents. Though everything was gold here, these were the standouts.
Dauntless Coming To Switch
The Monster hunter train that is Dauntless seems not to stop at consoles as it heads over to the Nintendo Switch this year. Killing big looks great here and as it has already been successful with other platforms, it seems that Pheonix Labs is ready to expect the Nintendo folks quite soon.
Another Daemon X Machina demo launched
Daemon X Machina has been on my watch list for a bit and with a new demo forthcoming, that gold and launch date is looking imminent and well-anticipated. The mecha combat game launched yet another demo with some more of the first missions to shake a 20-foot gun at. The game saves can be carried over the new game. 4 man co-ops are also available.
Terry Bogard Unleashes his Fury in Smash!
Kyo, Ryo, Narakuru, Geese, Iroi, Andy, and Joe: outside of what they have in common in being members of SNK, whose coming out the woodwork? they’ve all been overlooked for the invitation to join Ryu, Mario, Solid Snake and 60+ others in Smash Bros Ultimate as the Neo Geo representatives that they are. The Legendary Wolf of Battle – Terry Bogard, with the star of his back – will be forthcoming to the game in November. So far, he’s looking pretty swell. Nintendo provided a teaser for Terry and his letter-grabbing prowess, which dons homage to the King Of Fighters ’94 intro. The Fatal Fury fighter looks cool so far!
Some notable entries in the update include Goemon(Mystical Ninja), Sans(Undertale, Team Rocket, Protoman(Mega Man), and Zero(Megaman X), costumes. OKAY!
Overwatch on Switch
Heroes, you expected this. After several rumblings and a leaked Overwatch pack, Blizzard doesn’t seem to put much over themselves on this latest release. Overwatch will be headed to the Nintendo Switch without any drawbacks. All the content and right on time for Blizzardcon. Nothing says several Reaper quotes true like doing it in the privacy of a coffee shop or library. Overwatch will be heading to the Nintendo Switch in October.

Something we’ve all been hoping for at some point, but to ante up on the SNES Mini, Nintendo decided to get itself a slot and bring about its’ classics online with different features. According to Gamespot, we’re looking at 20+ of the 16 bit era with more forthcoming.
- Brawl Brothers
- Breath Of Fire
- Demon’s Crest
- Joe And Mac 2: Lost In The Tropics
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- Kirby’s Dream Land 3
- Star Fox
- Stunt Race FX
- Super EDF: Earth Defense Force
- Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario World
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
- Super Metroid
- Super Puyo Puyo 2
- Super Soccer
- Super Tennis
- The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
All these online and free to Switch Online subscribers. A majority of these are the launch titles that showed during the 91 release. I remember them because I WAS THERE. lol The SNES controller will be rolling in later this year. With online play and saving, there’s no reason why not to jump in on the action. Just don’t do it the way Paul Rudd did. Sure – it was cool when you waited for your mom to finish grocery shopping next door, but … we good now.
So, what do you guys think? did Nintendo get it right this time? or did we need more? Let me know in the comments below.
