There are some things that make you proud to be from planet Earth, and the fact that we celebrate burgers is one of them. Not only do we celebrate them in fact, but we even give them their very own day in honour of their meaty (or veggie, or vegan) goodness.
So why not grab yourself a Big Kahuna Burger, sit down and enjoy our favourite burgers in film. Now there’s a list I didn’t think I’d be creating when I woke up this morning!
ROYALE WITH CHEESE
We begin our celebration of all things burger with a scene in which no foodstuff ever appears. Instead, two badass mother f***ers kill time on a boring car journey by discussing the correct pronunciation of Big Mac in France.
WELCOME TO GOOD BURGER
Keenan and Kel were responsible for a lot of crimes against humanity back in the 90s, but none of that matters because they’re also the guys who came up with the iconic 1997 comedy flick Good Burger – a whole movie about burgers!
THIS TASTES LIKE PISS AND FLIES, DON’T IT?
When Kevin Smith announced he was finally making a follow-up to Clerks, his black-and-white 1994 ode to consumerism, we all just assumed it would be set in the same convenience store as before. But the characters, much like time, had moved on and were now proud, card carrying members of Team Mooby’s, a down market burger chain that is the McDonald’s of the View Askewniverse.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
We’ve all been there, right? You order something from the menu at your local burger joint and when the staff slide it over to you it looks nothing like the photo on the screen behind the counter.
THIS *IS* A TASTY BURGER
We started with Pulp Fiction and that’s where we’ll end – with the greatest burger scene of all time. If you ask Jules, there’s nothing like shooting some mother f***ers to work up an appetite. Mmm, this is a tasty burger.
