This week’s episode started with the Undisputed Era coming to the ring. Cole says he did everything he said he would at TakeOver and that he’s the greatest NXT champion to ever live. He then added that the NXT Mount Rushmore would be his face four times. The other members then chime in and say that they got screwed over at TakeOver. Strong says he wasn’t the one that got pinned. O’Reilly shows footage where the ref missed a tag so the wrong man was pinned.
While the Undisputed Era were making their way up the ramp, Jordan Myles came out with his contract for any title. Cole starts talking a lot of trash to Myles. Myles would respond by handing out the contract for Cole to sign. But when Cole went to grab it, Myles would drop the contract, smile, and walk off with his trademark smile.
The first match of the show was Mansoor vs Damian Priest. There was a small window where Mansoor got the spotlight and that moment was fun to watch. But once that was over, Priest would put Mansoor away with his Reckoning finisher.
Following this was Mia Yim vs Vanessa Borne. Aliyah, of course, would be accompanying Borne. I got to say, Borne and Aliyah might not be the best wrestlers in the world, but they sure do a great job at getting that crowd to react to them. Aliyah tried to interfere once during the match, but Yim would still get the win with her Protect Ya Neck.
Baszler would come out following the match. She started giving Yim a bunch of compliments and said they don’t have to be enemies. Shayna and her gang would then surround the ring. Yim decided she didn’t want to join forces and did a quick attack to her gang before escaping.
After that, Mauro would announce that Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic will have their rematch next week. This is followed by a recap of how their feud started.
The third match of the show was Bronson Reed vs Shane Thorne. This was a great overall match. Reed got to show off his strength and Thorne got to show his technical skills. The crowd was really into the match as well. In the end, Thorne would win with a ridiculous running kick that somehow didn’t knock Reed’s head off. That kick had some impact.
We’re then graced with the Velveteen Dream as he is rolled out in his sofa throne. He starts with talking about how much his WWE merchandise cost, then says that beating Pete Dunne was priceless. He adds that he likes being on top because that’s where the spotlight is. He finishes with calling out Roderick Strong. If you haven’t seen this couch throne yet, do yourself a favor and look it up.
The main event of the show was Killian Dane vs Matt Riddle. Riddle would attack Dane from behind when his music came on to get the upper hand. This was a long and physical match. Riddle though wasn’t able to keep up as Dane would deliver three straight Vader Bombs before getting the pin. While Dane was making his way backstage, Riddle would chase him down and continue the fight as the show came to an end.
And that wraps it up for this episode. Next week we get the long-awaited Keith Lee vs Dominik Dijakovic rematch and also the Street profits defend their titles against the Undisputed Era. To add to that, Adam Cole defends his NXT Championship against Jordan Myles in two weeks. Thanks for reading and long live wrestling!
