Little Nightmares 2 Announced at Gamescon 2019

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The surprises keep on coming out of Gamescon 2019, as we now know there will be a sequel to Little Nightmares, and it’s coming very soon.

Little Nightmares was one of the sleeper hits of 2017, gathering a huge following and receiving over a 98% positivity rating according to a poll of Google users. It was a puzzle-platformer horror game overflowing with terrifying creations. It followed a young girl named Six as she tried to escape the clutches of the dreaded Maw – a dark and deadly lair where lost children are kept – or rather, taken.

The trailer doesn’t give too much away, but this is what we do know. In the follow-up, Six will be joined by another creepy child named Mono, and instead of simply hiding and escaping, the characters will be able to engage in combat, something that was never featured in the original video game. We can only imagine players can defend themselves from attack, as it would be an odd decision to have the children outright hunting and killing anyone – but who knows?

Little Nightmares was an absolute dream to play, and would make for a really cool stop-motion animated movie if anyone with money is reading this? We have high expectations of the sequel, and judging by the first look, we won’t be disappointed.

Little Nightmares 2 is coming sometime in 2020 to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
