It’s deal of the week time once again and things are relatively bleak on the Google Play store. The usual filler and a few decent TV series can be had for a reasonable price but nothing really stands out.
This week’s selection is a follow-up from two weeks ago when we picked 1992’s live-action take on Manga series The Guyver whereby we alluded to the fact that Alita: Battle Angel was releasing this month for the bargain price of £9.99 and in HD. Check out the original trailer for Alita here:
Alita: Battle Angel was originally announced in the heady days of 2003 and had remained in development ever since then. James Cameron has been attached since the beginning and wrote the script for the film that is based on a manga series (and a 2 episode anime) before directing duties came to Robert Rodriguez due to Cameron’s commitment to the Avatar series. The story follows Alita, a cyborg who is rescued from a scrapyard in Iron City by doctor Ido. She awakens with no memory of who she is and what has happened, read our full review here.
