After months of speculation, All Elite Wrestling has finally announced its plans to launch a weekly episodic television show, which will air on TNT. But fans hoping for a reignition of the Monday Night Wars will be disappointed to hear that the upcoming show will not be broadcast on Monday night, nor will it compete with SmackDown Live.
According to a press release from WarnerMedia, AEW will make the move to television on October 2nd, 2019 and will run for 2 hours per week. The show will take place in different cities across the United States each week, starting in Washington, D.C., at the Capital One Arena. Ticket prices will be announced on July 29 at 12 p.m. ET via AEW’s various social media platforms.
Launching a weekly TV show will be the first real test for AEW, as we already know they can sell out for PPV’s and put on incredible live-events. That being said, these are certainly some very exciting times for wrestling fans, and we’ll have all the info as we get it.
