Another month, another great selection of titles added to XBOX GAME PASS! With such a wealth of titles, your friendly neighbourhood bearded gamer’s have once again cherry-picked a selection that you may have missed. This month we take a look at some of the heavy hitters on offer from spine chilling tales, sci-fi stealth action, biblical adventures, high octane racing and madhouse gore fest’s, we have an elaborate concoction of titles for you. HELLBLADE

Set in the dark and unforgiving world of Norse mythology you follow Senua as she ventures into the realm of Helheim to save the soul of her love. Venturing through harsh and violent lands all brought to life with stunning detail and narration you will need to battle fierce foes and solve intricate puzzles to complete the quest. Senua must also battle her own mind, believed to be cursed by suffering from psychosis, Hellblade has received multiple awards for its respectful and impactful insight into mental health. One to play in the dark with headphones on.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Hideo Kojima’s epic saga comes to a strange end in The Phantom Pain. Following on from the events of Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes you step into the shoes of Venom Snake as he seeks to rebuild his army without borders and track down the ones responsible for destroying mother base. Though the events between Kojima and Konami are well-documented hence the unfinished nature of the plotline, The Phantom Pain remains one of the very best open-world action games and is more than worthy of your time.

DARKSIDERS: WARMASTERED EDITION

Darksiders has become a cult classic, happily wearing its inspirations on its sleeve you take control of War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse who has been accused of starting the end of days. In order to clear your name, you must venture through a ravaged earth and beyond as heaven and hell relentlessly battle on. With gameplay best described as God of War style combat and traversal mixed with Zelda inspired dungeon crawling and puzzles, Darksiders is certainly a fun and engaging adventure filled with memorable characters, now with 4K enhancements and HDR for the Xbox One X players.

DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED

Stepping into the dark cyberpunk future you play as Adam Jenson in a political and violent take on the future of mankind. With the rise of technology the human race now has the ability to augment themselves with upgrades and enhancements but at what cost? As tensions between the augmented and regular humans escalate you must do all you can to prevent an all-out war. Featuring in-depth character development and freedom to tackle missions in a variety of ways be them lethal of non-lethal, this is a gritty and enjoyable romp through very well realised future.

DIRT 4

Time for some high octane rally action from the long-running series Dirt. Take to the tracks in on and off-road courses throughout a selection of locations and events to progress through. No one does racing better than Codemasters and they are on form to this very day. Dirt 4 also features a new mechanic called “your stage” allowing the player to set a series of preferences to create procedurally generated tracks to really spice things up.

WOLFENSTEIN 2 : THE NEW COLOSSUS

B.J Blazkowicz is back to tear the Nazi’s a new one in this explosive sequel. Continuing from where The New Order left off you and your crew are out to thwart Frau Engle’s sadistic schemes and liberate America for the resistance. 80’s action movies are clearly the influence for the awesome range of elaborate weapons, explosive battles and memorable characters. More emphasis was put on character progression and choice to allow players to personalise their experience. With Young Blood hitting shelves soon now is the time to catch up on the story.

DEAD RISING 4

Frank West returns to the forefront of Capcom’s other long-running zombie series. This isn’t the claustrophobic terror of Resident Evil but the batshit crazy world of Dead Rising. After investigating a military compound to discover experiments are being performed on zombies it’s not long before things go pear-shaped and you are let loose to complete missions while avoiding the hoards of the undead in over the top comedic fashion. If you want a zombie experience that doesn’t take itself too seriously then look no further.

  1. There are some seriously strong games on that list, especially for solo players. I mean, between Hellblade, Darksiders and MGSV you could easily get over a hundred hours of fun. Not bad about a tenner a month 😀
