The biggest fan event of the year is upon us again, as our fellow nerds, geeks, and gamers travel to San Diego to worship at the alter of the all-powerful church of the SDCC, and yet again it has not disappointed.

There is simply too much news to report on here, so instead, we’ve pulled together the very best TV and movie trailers and teasers unveiled at SDCC 2019, all to enjoy in one place from the comfort of your sofa.

So why not start saving for a visit to the event itself next year, but for now kick back, relax and begin scrolling?

THE WALKING DEAD MOVIE

What happened to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) at the end of The Walking Dead season 8? Find out in the long-awaited, cross your fingers that it doesn’t suck, Walking Dead movie, which is apparently heading to cinemas and not just AMC. The trailer isn’t particularly exciting, but it does get us excited for what might just lay ahead.

JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT

Growing up Kevin Smith was my jam. In 2019 though I’m fearful that Jay and Silent Bob will be horribly out of their depth, relics from a past long-forgotten in a haze of snoochie-boochies. The first trailer for the unexpected Jay and Silent Bob Reboot does look like fun though and features a ton of familiar faces.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK

Readers of a certain age will no doubt remember wetting their pants at the sight of Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Sadly most of those same readers now wet their pants on a regular basis, but at least nobody will notice this time around. We’re joking of course.

THE WITCHER (SEASON 1)

After months of waiting, fans of the beloved book and video game series were treated to their first glimpse of Henry Cavill as Geralt, in the awesome looking The Witcher series from Netflix.

blank

THE WALKING DEAD (SEASON 10)

The guys behind The Walking Dead never fail to make the next season look exciting, but quite often the very best stuff appears in the SDCC trailer and we end up just a little bit disappointed. That being said, how great does season 10 look, and how many unanswered questions does it leave us with?

blank

HALLOWEEN SEQUELS

SURPRISE! Michael Myers isn’t dead. Neither is the Halloween franchise after the money the 2018 reboot/remake/reimagining raked in for everyone involved.

blank

STAR TREK: PICARD (SEASON 1)

Wow. Not only does this Star Trek follow up promise tons of Patrick Stewart, but we’ve also since found out that Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis are all on-board too. That’s some exciting stuff that promises a ton more cameos as the series progresses.

blank

CREEPSHOW (SEASON 1)

The horror anthology series makes its long-awaited return as part of the ever-increasing Shudder lineup, putting a smile back on the faces of disgruntled horror fans everywhere.

blank

HIS DARK MATERIALS (SEASON 1)

HBO and the BBC teamed up to create what could be the next Game of Thrones, provided its better than the frankly meh Golden Compass movie from a few years back.

blank

HARLEY QUINN (SEASON 1)

DC continues to expand its content for the new DC Universe experience with this much talked about adult animation featuring everyone’s favourite psychopath Harley Quinn – like literally, e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e is obsessed with this character! KC lends her distinctive vocals, and there are definite hints at a Harley/Poison Ivy romance that will have a portion of the comics community tuning in religiously when it lands.

blank

WATCHMEN (SEASON 1)

Who watches The Watchmen? Us. The answer is us, and hopefully all of you because HBO needs a new hit to fill the MASSIVE void left by Game of Thrones, and quite honestly this spin on Alan Moore’s iconic source material could be the comic book adaptation we’ve been waiting for all these years.

blank

CARNIVAL ROW (SEASON 1)

We have to admit, this one caught us by surprise, but how bloody sexy does this look? Amazon is really pulling out all the stops lately to make themselves a must-see streaming service.

blank

IT: CHAPTER TWO

It’s the shot of Pennywise licking the window. That’s all it took to make us shit our pants with a mix of fear and excitement, and gear ourselves up for the horror sequel we’ve all been waiting for.

blank

PREACHER (SEASON 4)

The once unfilmable comic book has run for 3 seasons so far and each time it drew to a close we clenched our butt holes in anticipation of that dreaded cancellation – but it never came. The end is finally nigh though with the 4th and final season which has some ground to cover to bring it to a logical and satisfactory conclusion.

Although we’re worried about how much is left to cover, we’re also mega-hyped to see what they came up with!

There were, of course, other trailers, some better than others, and you can check all of them out at the official SDCC page.
