It’s deal of the week time again and there are some solid options in the Google store this week. All the Die Hard films except 3 are on offer, though do yourself a favour and avoid 5 like the plague. You’ve also got films like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Saving Private Ryan and Battle Royale which are all well worth checking out.
My initial picks were between Serenity and Chronicle as they’re both films I enjoy for differing reasons. Chronicle is a superhero gone bad type film which is a lot of fun despite the found footage format and Serenity is the movie follow up to the TV series Firefly which I’ve talked about at length here and it’s great to have the film as a form of closure for the show.
That being said it all went out the window when the Toy Story collection was added later in the week at £14.99 which is something of a bargain as it contains the first three 3 films so it’s worth considering just for that. It also contains the Toy Story of Terror and Toy Story That Time Forgot shorts which was a nice surprise as I didn’t initially realise these were both included when considering the collection. Check out the original trailer here:
Toy Story was the debut feature film from Pixar and followed Woody, voiced by Tom Hanks, as he and the other toys belonging to Andy go about their lives when their owner isn’t around, this includes dealing with the arrival of new toy Buzz Lightyear who is voiced by Tim Allen. The sequels build on this premise while also expanding the world and introducing new toys.
The obvious reason that this has been put on offer is the release of the fourth film at the cinema so this is the perfect time to pick this up. You’re essentially getting around 5 hours of top Pixar animation at half price which is obviously a bargain.
