Movie Deals of the Week April 8th, 2019

moviehead

It’s deal of the week time again and this week the selection is a little bit poor though there are a couple of returning deals worth a look. There’s a collection of all 6 live-action Spider-Man films so far for £20 which is pretty reasonable, and last week’s offering of Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane are still available for a fiver each which isn’t too shabby either.

That said I’m going to go for two recommendations for very different reasons. First up is The Nice Guys, written and directed by Shane Black so you know you’re getting a film with some great dialogue. It stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe as a mismatched duo who team up to investigate a missing person case. If there’s one thing Shane Black can write it’s mismatched buddy movies, Lethal Weapon and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang being the most obvious examples of this. It’s currently available to purchase from £1.99 on Google Play, check out the original trailer here:

Last, and definitely least, is Gods of Egypt. Directed by Alex Proyas, who directed The Crow which was a bloody class, this stars Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as the gods of the title and is very much a lesson in how not to make a film. It’s become a film that I’ve started to enjoy because of just how bad it is. I’ve also enjoyed getting other people to watch it just so they can explain to me just how bad they found it. Know that if you get it then you’re getting a film that’s utter dogshit but is also like a car crash, you can’t help watching.
