We are just days away from WrestleMania 35, and the internet is awash with rumours and predictions for WWE’s grandest spectacle of the year. But here at Two Beard, we see things a little differently. Perhaps it’s the power of our mighty nose neighbours sending us secret info, but we can see this being a year of twists, turns and swerves.
So oil up those 24-inch pythons brother, and prepare to feel the powaaaahhh, as we predict 3 Twists We Can See Coming at WrestleMania 35.
3. RONDA ROUSEY WINS ALL THE GOLD
Let’s be honest. No one – and we mean no one – wants to see any result in the RAW Women’s Championship match other than Becky Lynch ending Ronda Rousey’s undefeated streak and taking the belt from her. But there has to be a reason why Charlotte Flair was added to the mix, and with the SmachDown Women’s Championship around her waist to boot? We smell a swerve coming folks, and we don’t see anyone going home happy this year – at least not in the two most anticipated matches of the night. Somehow Charlotte’s gold will be on the line come WrestleMania 35 and heel Ronda is taking both belts home.
2. BIG E SCREWS KOFI KINGSTON
Congratulations to the WWE Universe for swaying Vince McMahon’s all-powerful hand and allowing 12-year veteran Kofi Kingston to at last get a WWE Championship opportunity on the grandest stage of all. The build to Kofi and Daniel Bryan has been immense, and some of the best WWE writing in ages, but if you think a Kofi win is cut and dry then you’ve another thing coming.
Our crystal ball is telling us that just when it looks like the fans will get the result they’ve been crying out for, Big E will take it all away by screwing his New Day chum. Who knows, maybe Xavier Woods will be involved too? Either way, Daniel Bryan will leave WrestleMania as WWE Champion while Kofi Kingston simply leaves with his dream in pieces.
1. STING CHALLENGES THE UNDERTAKER
There has been a lot of talk about The Undertaker’s status with WWE of late, ever since he agreed to appear at Conrad Thompson’s AEW heavy Starrcast event. As far as our sources are concerned (thank you Repo Man), he’s still tight with Vince et al and will show up at WrestleMania, but likely not to have a match.
Here’s how we see things going down. Someone goes to the ring to run their mouth – Elias maybe if he’s not getting himself and angle with Hall of Famer The Honky Tonk Man – and out comes Undertaker to finish what he started 12 months prior at WrestleMania 34. What happens next is up to WWE, maybe Elias gets a quick beating or maybe they have another squash match encounter, but either way, the Dead Man will barely break a sweat, but at least he gets another ‘Mania moment.
Just as ‘Taker is about to leave however, the lights go out. This is the moment that Sting’s music hits and the crowd go WILD. A stunned Undertaker stands in the ring as the former WCW and TNA Champion squares up to him, reaches out his trademark baseball bat, and points to the WrestleMania sign hanging from the rafters.
A WrestleMania 36 showdown is set, and the 1 match that fans have always wanted to see will finally take place. Giving the two veterans 12 months to prepare and hype the match will allow them both ample time to train and get themselves into peak physical condition, ensuring an unforgettable encounter that will possibly be the final outing for them both. It might seem far fetched but there has to be a reason why Sting has been name dropping Undertaker in recent interviews, and we think this could be why.
