Na na na na na na na na … HEROES IN A HALF SHELL! If you were expecting us to scream BATMAN at the top of our lungs, then guess again because Warner Bros. has finally confirmed what we’ve all wanted to be true since time began – the world’s of Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to collide in their first ever animated crossover movie.
You may remember not all that long ago, James Tynion IV and Freddie Williams II created a crossover comic book series which ran for six issues via the IDW label back in late 2015 and early 2016. The all-new movie is inspired by – if not based on – the same huge selling series and will see our favorite sewer dwelling, pizza eating Ninja’s team-up with the Dark Knight to face off against some of Gotham’s darkest rogues, including Mr. Freeze and Ra’s al Ghul, and all thanks to some transdimensional shenanigans.
The film’s cast will include Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham Origins) as both Batman and arch-nemesis The Joker. He will be joined by Emmy Award winner Darren Criss (Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live), Baron Vaughn (Grace & Frankie), Eric Bauza (The Woody Woodpecker Show), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and the excellent Tara Strong as Harley Quinn.
We’ll have more details as we get them. Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive on 4K and Blu-ray this spring, a few months prior to the 35th anniversary of the TMNT franchise.
