Kenny Omega Rejects WWE Deal, Joins AEW

Last night, Kenny Omega ended months of speculation by turning up at the AEW Double or Nothing ticket announcement party in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Omega, a former IWGP World Champion, was introduced as an Executive Vice President of the company, has been courted by All Elite Wrestling for as long as the brand has existed, and in his mind, it may have been a formality all along. However, always the showman, Kenny kept wrestling fans guessing as to where he would end up once his deal with NJPW was done.

Omega’s celebration was shortlived at the event as he was quickly challenged by former nemesis Chris Jericho, possibly setting up a huge showdown at the Double or Nothing PPV.

Other names confirmed to be under deals with AEW are AAA Wrestling star Sammy Guevara, and women wrestlers Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, Kylie Rae and Nyla Rose. Former WWE Superstar PAC showed up to challenge Hangman Page, while elsewhere The Young Bucks were taken out by the Impact Tag Team Champion The Lucha Bros.

All Elite Wrestling is doing an excellent job at building excitement for their first big show, and we’ll have more news as it breaks. For now though, you can watch the entire ticket rally in the video below:
